Annual Christmas Pincushion Exchange

What is it about pincushions? We quilters already have them…and yet somehow there is always room for one more!

Join us for one of our favorite little holiday traditions—our Annual Christmas Pincushion Exchange on Friday, December 11, from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Here’s how it works: Create a homemade pincushion, wrap it up so no one can see what’s inside, and bring it with you. Then the fun begins! We’ll do a traditional Yankee Swap, complete with choosing, stealing, swapping, and undoubtedly a little good-natured scheming over the pincushions everyone wants to take home.

This is your chance to have some fun and get creative. Your pincushion can be cute, clever, traditional, whimsical, simple or completely over the top. The only requirement is that it be handmade by you and something you’d be happy to give to another quilting friend.

There is a $5 registration fee, and 100% of the registration fees will be donated to our local food pantry for the holidays—so while we’re having a little fun, we’ll also be doing a little good for our community.

Advance registration is required so we know we’ll have enough participants to make the swap work.

Grab a quilting friend, start dreaming up your pincushion, and come join us. You’ll arrive with one handmade treasure and leave with another—and possibly a few new pincushion ideas you’ll just have to make!

And remember: If someone steals the pincushion you wanted, it’s nothing personal. It’s a Yankee Swap. All quilting friendships will resume at noon.
